Case study · The MMA Clinic · High Wycombe and LondonReels from the mats, members through the door

The MMA Clinic runs mixed martial arts, boxing and fitness classes across three locations in High Wycombe and London. For a year we filmed their classes, cut the footage into Reels and ran the social channels. The owner's Google review gives the result better than we could.

Amir has been creating reels from classes at all 3 of our locations over the past year, hes work has not only brought a lot of new members but have increased our followers by over 2000 in 12 months…

Who they are

A martial arts and fitness gym with three sites, a broad timetable and a community that ranges from first timers to competitive fighters. Membership businesses live or die on two things: how many local people know the gym exists, and how many of those walk in for a first class. Both are social media jobs.

The problem they came with

Three locations, hundreds of classes a month and no time to film any of it. The gym had the atmosphere and the coaching; what it did not have was a steady stream of content showing that to the people within a few miles of each site. Follower counts for a gym only matter if the followers are local, and buying reach from far away does nothing for a business that needs people on the mat.

What we did, and why

Filming at all three locations. Our videographer visited the gyms through the year and filmed classes, sparring, pad work and the people. Real members in real sessions, because that is what persuades a nervous beginner to book a trial.

Reels, cut and posted for the gym. Short, fast edits built for Instagram and Facebook, published on a schedule so every location stayed visible every week.

Local by design. We aimed the content and the follower growth at people near each site rather than at vanity numbers. The owner’s review makes the point himself: the followers might not seem like a lot, but they are all local and very engaging, and they convert into paying members every day.

The result

In the owner’s words: over 2,000 new followers in twelve months, all local, a community of like minded people who stay in touch, and new paying members every day. Membership and revenue figures are the gym’s own and are not published here. The review is below, unedited.

Questions

Questions

How do gyms get more members from Instagram?
Film real classes and real members, post short Reels every week, and target local people rather than chasing a big follower count. The MMA Clinic added over 2,000 local followers in a year that way and converts them into members daily.
How often should a gym post on social media?
Several times a week, every week, per location. That only works if someone is filming regularly, which is why we send a videographer rather than asking the coaches to do it on a phone between classes.
Does social media management work for martial arts gyms?
Yes, when the content is genuine and local. Beginners want to see what a class actually looks like before they walk in. Reels do that job better than any advert.
How much does gym social media management cost?
It depends on the number of locations and how much filming is needed. We quote after a call, so there are no prices on this site.
