Case study · Escape Campers · Peterborough, Cambridgeshire A DM on Instagram. Then £5.76 leads.

Escape Campers convert and sell campervans from Peterborough. In January 2025 we sent them a message on Instagram, because we liked the vans and thought we could sell more of them. Nineteen months later we run their ads, their content and their social from one plan, host their website, and have just started on their search. The figures here are theirs: ad account, social accounts and HubSpot CRM, read by MyContentLab.

01 · How it started

We found them, not the other way round

Most clients come to us on a recommendation. Escape Campers came from a direct message. We had been watching their builds on Instagram, thought the vans deserved a bigger audience, and said so. The first call turned into a plan in January 2025.

They already had a lot going for them: a 4.9 star Google rating from 50 reviews, just under 7,000 Facebook followers and a product people travel across the country to see. What they did not have was a reliable, measurable flow of new enquiries, and ads that were tiring as fast as they were launched.

From £25 a lead to under £6

The first month MyContentLab reports, August 2025, leads cost £25.22 each. By November, with the market slowing and the old creative worn out, that had reached £50.53. The fix was not clever targeting. It was new footage, often: we rotate fresh cuts and new angles into the campaigns every couple of weeks, before the audience gets bored of the old ones, and we split the account into more campaigns over time so we can back the vans and messages that work and drop the ones that do not.

Across the thirteen complete months the account produced 1,293 leads from £25,950 of spend, £20.07 each, with 4.13 million impressions and 1.75 million video views. Then August 2026 happened: 262 leads at £5.76.

Hundreds of thousands of views a month

Paid and organic feed each other. The posts that get the most views become the next ads, and the busiest months on the page have been the cheapest months for leads, because the audience already knows the name. We film the builds, the finished vans and the reasons to trust the company, and post them as Reels and stories across Facebook and Instagram.

Facebook served 3.8 million video views between January and August 2026, with 767,846 in March alone, and the page grew from 6,756 to 9,402 followers. One short film about why the company is Renault approved was watched 156,004 times. Instagram reached 332,432 accounts over the year.

Four deals in July, £285,000 in HubSpot

Every lead goes into HubSpot, where the sales team work it and record what it became. Between January 2025 and August 2026, 2,531 new contacts came into the CRM. In July 2026 four deals closed and were recorded at £285,000 in total, an average of £71,250 each, which is what a campervan business looks like when the sale is a van rather than a service.

We publish that figure because the client’s own CRM recorded it. We do not publish platform reported conversions as sales, here or anywhere on this site.

Search, now that the audience is warm

In August 2026 we started on the local search side: the Google Business Profile, reviews and the on page work that gets a converter found by people who have not seen an ad yet. The profile was viewed 3,370 times that month, up from 1,148 in January 2026, with 927 clicks through to the website we host for them.

Ads bring the leads. Content keeps the audience. Search is where the next year comes from. All three sit in the same monthly report.

Questions

Questions

How many leads can Facebook ads generate for a campervan company?
Escape Campers get between 60 and 260 a month depending on the season, on a mid range monthly budget for the sector. The best month, August 2026, produced 262 leads at £5.76 each.
How do you market a campervan conversion business?
Real footage of the builds, refreshed every month, in ads aimed at people at the research stage, with an active organic page behind it and a CRM that records what each lead became. That is the whole plan, and it has produced 1,293 leads for Escape Campers.
What should a campervan company post on social media?
Builds in progress, finished vans, the people doing the work and the reasons to trust the company: approvals, warranties, reviews. The post that did best for Escape was about being Renault approved.
Do those leads actually turn into sales?
Some of them, and we only publish the part we can trace. Escape Campers’ CRM shows £285,000 of closed business against the leads it received. The rest of the pipeline belongs to them and is not published here. That distinction matters: a lead is somebody who raised their hand, and any agency quoting lead volume as if it were revenue is selling you the easy half of the story.
How do you keep leads coming through the winter?
By expecting the dip and planning for it. Escape’s lead volume moves with the season, from around sixty in the quiet months to over two hundred and sixty in the best, so the winter job is different work rather than more of it: content that builds the audience for spring, retargeting the people who enquired and did not buy, and the CRM working the back catalogue of old leads. An agency that only knows how to raise the budget has nothing to offer a seasonal business in January.
