    THE CHALLENGE

Wheels VT is a local car workshop in England that was struggling with an online presence that drove customers away rather than attracting them. The workshop's website lacked even the most basic details — no clear location, no list of services, and no easy way to get in touch. It felt unprofessional with no photos of the workshop, no introduction to the team, and no customer reviews to build trust.

The site suffered from major visual and usability issues, including a weak hero section, missing location details, and an ineffective image carousel. The colour scheme was dull with little contrast, responsiveness was broken on mobile devices, there were no clear CTA buttons, and the phone number was not clickable on mobile. The "Contact Us" button led to an email form, discouraging quick contact. Stock images were used instead of authentic visuals. An unnecessary booking system complicated rather than simplified the process. From an SEO perspective, the site had poorly structured headers, no local keywords, a single-page layout limiting SEO potential, and no integration with social media despite an active presence.

    OUR SOLUTION

The car workshop's website was completely redesigned to improve user experience, increase service enquiries and enhance SEO. AMW Media incorporated a high-quality video featuring real customers and employees to enhance authenticity and trust, while embedding a looped snippet from a longer YouTube video as an additional traffic source.

Contact details were made always visible, the logo became more prominent, and the colour scheme was enhanced for visual appeal. Clear CTAs — "Book an appointment", "Contact us", and "Explore services" — were placed strategically to encourage user action. The booking process was simplified by removing the basket system, adding a quick call button, integrating CRM, and introducing an AI chat assistant. Customer reviews, team photos and service specialisations were added to increase trust.

SEO was optimised with refined H1 and H2 tags, location-specific phrases, additional subpages for service offers and about/contact information, and a planned blog section for long-tail search queries. The site was integrated with AMW Platform, an AI-powered CRM that automates appointment booking, customer service and data analysis with an intelligent chatbot and advanced analytics.

    THE PROCESS

The project started with a full audit of the existing website, documenting every usability and SEO issue. We catalogued the missing basics — no location details, no service list, no team photos, no reviews — and mapped out what a local car workshop's website needs to actually convert visitors into customers.

Strategy sessions with the Wheels VT team established the priorities: build trust through authentic visuals, make contact effortless, and optimise for local search. We planned a professional video shoot featuring real customers and employees to replace the stock imagery that undermined credibility. The site architecture was expanded from a single page to multiple dedicated pages for services, about, and contact — each targeting specific local search terms.

The creative phase delivered a complete visual overhaul. The colour scheme was enhanced for stronger contrast and visual appeal. The hero section was rebuilt with the professional video content, and a looped snippet from a longer YouTube video was embedded as an additional traffic source. Customer reviews, team photos, and service specialisations were prominently featured to build trust immediately.

During the build, we simplified the booking process by removing the unnecessary basket system and adding a quick call button, CRM integration, and an AI chat assistant. Contact details were made permanently visible, clear CTAs — "Book an appointment", "Contact us", and "Explore services" — were placed at strategic decision points, and the phone number was made clickable on mobile.

SEO was addressed comprehensively: refined H1 and H2 tags, location-specific keywords throughout, proper heading hierarchy, and integration with the AMW Platform for automated appointment booking, customer service, and analytics. A blog section was planned for ongoing long-tail search query targeting.

    THE RESULTS

The redesigned website is now a powerful marketing tool ready for distribution via Google and Meta ads alongside ongoing organic SEO optimisation. With a modern design, professional photo and video content, optimised CTAs and strong SEO foundations, the site drives users straight to making contact.

WheelsVT implemented AMW Platform to enhance workflow efficiency, increasing customer loyalty and reducing response times by 50 percent. The entire business is now managed from one place, with more efficient customer communication, automated service reminders, and a streamlined customer service process. The workshop's social media presence was transformed through professional video production, educational materials and expert-driven content that positions the workshop as a market leader.

    WHAT WE LEARNED

Wheels VT reinforced a lesson we keep relearning: for local businesses, authentic content beats polished production every time. The stock photography and generic copy on the old site made Wheels VT look like every other vehicle repair shop in the country. Replacing that with real photos of the team, genuine customer stories, and location-specific content transformed how local customers perceived the business.

The other major insight was that simplifying contact paths delivered the highest ROI of any single change. The original site had a contact form, three phone numbers, an email address, and a WhatsApp link scattered across different pages. Consolidating to one prominent click-to-call button and one simple form — visible on every page — increased enquiries by a significant margin within the first month.

If you run a local service business, invest in real photography of your team and premises before anything else. And audit how many steps it takes for a customer to contact you. Every additional click, every extra option, every hidden phone number is costing you leads. Make it one tap, one form, one action — and watch your enquiries climb.
